Praise for Remedy for a Broken Angel

Chanticleer Book Reviews:
Remedy for a Broken Angel is an extraordinary novel about digging out from years of suppression to find forgiveness and to forgive. Johnson deftly exposes the many faces of patterns of abuse and how the “unseen hand” perpetuates and feeds the demons within. Author, Toni Ann Johnson writes with authority about the world in which the characters in her novel, Remedy for a Broken Angel, live as they endure an endless struggle for the truth. As you read this work, you might just hear the strains of jazz composer Charles Mingus’ music seeping throughout Johnson’s novel in its refrains and riffs of the complications of relationships.”

Eriq LaSalle, author of Laws of Depravity:
“Toni Ann Johnson has done such an impressive job of creating beautifully flawed characters that I was unable to stop thinking about them and their incredible journeys long after I’d finished reading the book.”

Jeff Stetson, author of Blood on the Leaves:
“Magical, musical and mesmerizing, Remedy is as remarkable as it is unforgettable. Highly recommended.”

Almaluz Villanueva, author of Song of the Golden Scorpion:
“This is a journey of passion—no matter where the characters or storylines take us, like creeks and rivers, they always arrive at the great ocean. Of passion. Toni Ann Johnson’s novel will open your heart.”

Kate Maruyama, author of Harrogate:
“In soul-stirring rhythms and beguiling tones, Toni Ann Johnson illustrates how despite betrayal, divergent paths and irreparable damage, despite saying we are done forever, mothers and daughters are locked in the formation of each other.”

“Readers will find themselves deeply involved in this significant and meaningful novel destined to be a classic.”
